Water-jet cutting

Water-jet cutting is the ideal process to cut foam. Water is forced through nozzles of 0.12 mm to 0.20 mm at a pressure of 3600 bar to allow
precise cutting of practically any imaginable shape. The process can be CNC-driven and rapidly cuts the material without thermal or mechanical deformation.

This process allows foam up to 150 mm thick to be cut. Hard materials such as glass, stone or metal can be cut if abrasives are added to the water stream. Our machine has 4 cutting heads.

Tara cutting (thermal die cutting)

Tara cutting is a simple and cost-effective process, which allows us to cut anything from a simple groove to a complicated cross-section in foam. It uses an electrically heated steel band, which has been bent into the required shape. Careful control of the temperature and speed ensures a clean cut.

This process is suitable for cross-linked and unlinked PE foams but not
for pure soft foams.

Stamping

Stamping foam is a cost-effective and fast option when relatively simple forms and large quantities are required. Modern CNC-driven stamper production allows more complicated shapes but the contours have to be smoother than with water-jet cut profiles. For disposable foam packaging this does not matter.

Milling

Water jet technology is an alternative to milling. CNC-controlled, virtually every shape can be milled using this technique too. Milling is especially beneficial when producing parts with very many and different levels. The part remains very stable, as it is “of one piece” as it were.
